Mujo is a supportive companion, and it is honest about what it is not. This page is the short version of that, in one place.
If you're in danger right now
Please contact emergency services yourself — Mujo cannot do it for you. In the UAE, call 999 for emergencies, or 800-SAKINA (800-725462) for 24/7 psychological first aid. Anywhere else, you can find a local line at findahelpline.com. Please don't wait, and please don't rely on Mujo for this.
Mujo is not a therapist
Mujo is not a therapist, counsellor, psychiatrist, psychologist, or any kind of licensed mental-health professional. It is not a medical device, it cannot diagnose or treat anything, and it is not a substitute for professional care. Using Mujo doesn't create a doctor–patient, therapist–client, or counsellor–client relationship with anyone.
It's an AI, and AI has limits
Mujo's replies are generated by artificial intelligence. It can be wrong, miss context, or misread what you meant — including in ways that sound confident. Please use your own judgement, and treat what it says as a companion's response rather than professional advice or medical information.
About the crisis safety feature
Mujo checks each message for signs that you may be at risk, and shows emergency resources when it thinks you might be. That check is a safety net, not a guarantee: it can miss things, and the resources it shows may not be complete, current, or available where you are.
It should never be your only source of support. Crisis support is never behind the paywall or any usage limit — those messages always come through, whatever your subscription status.
Your privacy, and its one limit
Your conversations are private. Mujo does not routinely monitor conversations or contact police, emergency services, hospitals, family members, or other people because of what you write. However, privacy is not absolute. Where disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law, Mujo may disclose information to the relevant authority.
We do not have a general system for contacting people in your life, and we do not routinely intervene based on things you tell Mujo. If you are in danger, you need to reach a real person yourself — that is what the section above is for.
Updated 30 August 2026(first updated 27 August 2026): we've updated Mujo's privacy language to clarify that conversations are private but, as with privacy protections generally, confidentiality is subject to applicable law and lawful requests from competent authorities. This clarification does not mean that Mujo routinely monitors conversations, or that anything you have written has been reviewed, reported, or shared with anyone.
This page is a summary. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are the full documents, and they take precedence if anything here conflicts with them.
